The Really Wild Food & Countryside Festival is now in its 7th year. It was founded by Julia Horton-Powdrill (Reallywildjulia) who has lived in Wales all her life and has always been passionate about its countryside. She had a dream about putting on a Festival to celebrate it and on moving from South East Wales to Pembrokeshire she decided that St Davids would be a perfect place to realise that vision.
Over the last 7 years the Festival has expanded and developed the aspects of countryside activities and skills that reflect what is available locally. It also allows visitors to the festival to sample and enjoy produce that has originated, specifically, from the natural countryside of Wales – indeed, all stall-holders must prove the source of their produce to the Festival organisers, prior to their allocation of space.
Each year the event has attracted more exhibitors and more visitors. It has always been important to include familiar faces from the previous years but also to introduce new ideas, suppliers, demonstrators and mini events.
The Festival is run by a CIC (Community Interest Company) which is a limited company with special additional features, created for the use of people who want to conduct a business or other activity for community benefit, and not for private advantage. This allows donations to be made to appropriate charities.
